At Building Block Child Development Center, our objective is to serve children between the ages of two and six in the San Jose, Saratoga and Cupertino communities with a neighborhood preschool that creates a positive environment and inspires a love of learning.
The program is based on Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development. As the kids are going through the developmental stage of early childhood, we create an open learning environment with an emphasis on creativity, play and self-expression. Our main focus is to meet the needs of each individual child for his or her social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth and development.
The Building Block CDC curriculum is designed to help students learn and grow through “hands-on” experience. Age-appropriate activities are performed every day in the “learning through play” oriented classroom. Providing your children a fun, stimulating, enriching, positive first school experience is our ultimate goal.
Why does early childhood education matter to us?
Good for the heart
We receive great joy in helping children learn and grow. It is good for our hearts and we feel as if all our students feel our love, too.
We strive to provide the most open environment so your children can have fun, be stimulated, feel enriched, and have a positive first school experience.
We emphasize creativity, play, and self-expression. We believe that will lead to overall well-being and happiness for our students.

Meet Our Team
I have an M.A in Early Childhood Education from UC Santa Barbara and have taught and directed early childhood education since 1989. All the children that I have taught know me as “Mrs. Ann.”
I have lived and worked in the Cupertino/San Jose area for the past 18 years. With my husband, we are raising two children who are attending high school in Cupertino public schools.
